Against the backdrop of hexagonal architectural partition, amidst a sea of bright eyed students, males wearing khaki shirts and pants and females wearing royal blue blouses and over the knee navy blue tunics who gathered for the morning’s assembly, Vincent Samuels, Secretary/Treasurer, Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) flanked by Vincent Brown, Vinnette Cain, Veronica Arthur-Heath, Victor Smith, Hymie Harvey, Wilford Holness – who currently resides in the UK – representatives of the Association, Councillor Cyril Martin, member Parish Council, New Market Parochial Division, Rev. Phyllis Smith-Seymour, Chairman School Board and Mrs. Tatlin E. Smith-Williams, Principal Beersheba Primary School (government Leased), handed over to the Chairman of the School Board and the Principal, on May 27, 2013, all portraits, artifact, memorabilia, books, texts, notes, compact discs relating to James “Dick” Richards. These invaluable historical items were collected in Bermuda by the BOSA Secretary/Treasurer September 17-23, 2012 during his visit to the Island to continue and complete primary and secondary research on James “Dick” Richards, Beersheba Primary School Alumnus, Self-made Businessman, Soldier, and Philanthropist, a native of the impoverished poverty stricken peasant farming community of Carr District, New Market, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies.

The unanimous decision to hand over the invaluable historical items mentioned herein, was taken at the bi-monthly general meeting of the Association that was held in the main auditorium at Beersheba Primary School (Government Leased) on March 11, 2013. In relinquishing its interest in this project that should have culminated in the establishment of a museum where items handed over to the administration of Beersheba Primary School (Government Leased) should be displayed in the interest of students at the school and other persons in Beersheba School Community, visitors to the area and posterity, direct descendants of James “Dick” Richards et al who have interest regarding the way forward with respect to this project, should address their concerns to the Chairman of the School Board and Principal of Beersheba Primary School (Government Leased), P.O. Box 48, New Market P.O., Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies.

 Although Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) has relinquished its interest in invaluable historical items mentioned herein with respect to the establishment of a museum, the Association will continue to work assiduously with Stakeholders and other Entities to bring Heritage Tourism to New Market Community as well as to ensure that Beersheba Primary School (Government Leased) is changed to James Richards Primary School in recognition of what the community has received from James “Dick” Richards.
