BOSA Announces The Home Going Of Artimus “Pusso” Smith – Vincent Samuels

It is with much sad regret that Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) announces the homegoing of yet another Beersheba Elementary School Alumnus.

Artimus “Pusso” Smith, age 92 years of Ruinit, New savannah, New market, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies, passed away in Black River Public General Hospital on July 13, 2014 after he was admitted to the hospital two weeks earlier suffering from a stroke.

Artimus whose wife Iris predeceased him 18 years ago, leaves behind children Nadine, Lovel, Dennis, Darian, Puduse and Melda; grand and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends to mourn his loss.

BOSA Announces Homegoing of Ira McNab “Miss Ira” – Vincent Samuels

It is with profound sadness of heart and with much regret that Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) announces the home going of 94 year old Ira McNab “Miss Ira” of “Holness Corner” Happy Hall, New Market, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies.

Ira McNab, “Miss Ira”, Beersheba Elementary School Alumna, was admitted to Black River Public General Hospital on July 8, 2014 after her medical condition deteriorated from a stroke that she earlier received at home.

“Miss Ira” the industrious housewife and mother who despite her husband “Mackie” predeceased her many years ago, worked assiduously and provided for her children as Fish Vendor who bought fish at White House, Westmoreland and sold them from the wide rim aluminum pudding pan that she carried on her head.

Notwithstanding Juliette Mullings – Herbert “Buds” Gayle niece – is an Alumna of Beersheba Primary School; dissatisfaction with existing conditions at her alma mater have caused her and other Beersheba Primary School Alumni to either opt to transfer their children from their alma mater to New Roads All Age School or they have bye-passed Beersheba Primary School and have their children admitted to neighbouring New Roads All School in the bordering parish of Westmoreland.

Zita Pryce-Samuels, Beersheba Elementary Moravian Church School Alumna who has been ailing for some time, passed away in Black River Public General Hospital on July 2, 2014.

Zita whose parents “Mass Georgie” and “Miss Alice”and several siblings predeceased her many years ago, leaves daughter Carmen and son Calvin and other relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
