School Board At Beersheba Primary School (Government Leased) New Market, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies, Has Acquiesced To Meet BOSA On December 4, 2013

Following several requests that Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) made to the School Board at Beersheba Primary School (Government Leased) since June 15, 2012 for the Board to meet the Association to discuss five (5) specific matters relating to the interest and welfare of students who attend the school, the Association has received information from Rev. Phyllis Smith-Seymour, Chairman of the School Board, that the Board will meet with the Association on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 3:00PM.

A candle light ceremony and vigil to which everyone in New Market Community is invited, will be held at New Market Square, Saint Elizabeth on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 8:00 p.m.

Thanksgiving Service for the life of the deceased will be held at Carmel Moravian Church, Westmoreland, Jamaica on December 5, 2013 commencing at 1:00 p.m.

Everton “Ruddy” Lewis, 53 year old Cattle Farmer and Butcher, was gunned down in cold blood at his home at Speculation, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies at about 6:00 AM on November 18, 2013. A large crowd – including several motorists from a wide cross section of Black River and adjoining communities who wept openly – converged in the crisp morning air at the deceased home to show their respect and support to family members and relatives of hardworking Mr. Lewis who was well beloved as an agricultural entrepreneur. Black River Police which promptly secured and took charge of the crime scene after Mr. Lewis was gunned down in cold blood at the front entrance of his house, have theorized that robbery is the motive for his death.

New Market Community Mourns The Passing Of Raphael Cummings, Business Entrepreneur, Troubadour, Country And Western Balladeer And Guitarist.

New Market Community is mourning the passing of Raphael Cummings, age 90 years, Business Entrepreneur, Troubadour, Country and Western Balladeer, and Guitarist who passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 03, 2013 after a long illness.

Mr. Cummings – whose siblings purchase Hopeton, Westmoreland, former slave estate where they established their Flagship Store – migrated to New Market, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies where he purchased the commercial building owned by the late C. C. Bromfield which he established as his flagship Furniture Store.

Mr. Cummings leaves behind his wife Lena, daughter Heather “Brown Sugar” Cummings from RJR Communications Group  and several family members and relatives to mourn his passing.
