BOSA Discovers Slave Burial Ground At Paynes Town – Vincent Samuels

Silhouetted by towering bamboo trees, other trees and shrubs guarded in a circle by “penguin macka”- packed with thorns and thistles – is the Slave Burial Ground that representatives of Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) has discovered at Paynes Town; adjoining Kepp, New Market, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies, former slave estates.

BOSA Announces The Home Going Of Pernel Gilbert Jones – Vincent Samuels

It is with much sad regret that Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) announces the home going of Pernel Gilbert Jones, age 80 years, Beersheba Primary School Alumnus and Peasant Farmer who resided in  Carr District, New Market, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies – birthplace of James “Dick” Richards.

Pernel as he is popularly known in his native Carr District, passed away peacefully at his home on February 29, 2016 after prolonged illness.

Pernel whose wife Brenda nee Murray – Beersheba Primary School Alumna predeceased him 20 years ago, leaves behind children Michael, Dixie, Orville, Barrington, Desrick, Jeffrey, Annette, Shernette, June, Bobette, Janice and several grand and great grand-children and friends to grieve and mourn his loss.
