Assistance Is Urgently Needed From All Beersheba Primary School Alumni, Honorary BOSA Members, Friends And Well-Wishers In Jamaica And The Diaspora To Renovate The Main Entrance To Their Alma Mater – Vincent Samuels

The existing unsatisfactory condition of the gate-less main entrance and deep craters in the roadway leading to Beersheba Primary School (Government Leased) compound, was discussed at length at the general meeting of Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) that was held in the main auditorium at Beersheba Primary School (Government Leased) on June 19, 2013.
In the pursuance of carrying out its mission as a Community Based Organization (CBO) and a vibrant and vigilant Stakeholder at Beersheba Primary School (Government Leased), the general meeting of the Association decided to discharge its social responsibility by doing the following:

  1. Liaise with Councillor Cyril Martin, Member Parish Council, New Market Parochial Division and the Secretary Manager, Saint Elizabeth Parish Council to have the Chairman of the Infrastructure Committee of the Council, receive a deputation of three persons from the Association so as to solicit the assistance of the Council to have one of its Technical Officer from the Roads and Works Department of the Council attend an on site meeting to determine the work that needs to be done.
  2. Arising from the site meeting mentioned at 1 above, Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA), will solicit assistance from the Technical Officer of the Saint Elizabeth Parish Council to prepare two quantity estimates to do the following work: (a) back-fill several deep craters in the section of the extremely deep craters in the section consisting of approximately 22 yards of roadway on Beersheba/Flint Valley parochial Road No. 47 with “Black Top” aggregate from the intervention with the bye pass road to the vicinity of the main entrance to Beersheba Primary School (Government Leased) (b) grade  and reshape road surface, back-fill extremely deep craters, and pave the roadway.
  3. Obtain quantity estimate from a reputable Welder to provide materials, manufacture, and install a durable wrought iron gate at the gate-less main entrance to Beersheba Primary School (Government Leased) compound.

The meeting decided that as soon as quantity estimates have been prepared for materials and labour to do the work, Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) will formulate and implement a strategy to mobilize fund raising activities to mobilize community support and fund raising activities that is needed to do the work.
