BOSA Announces the home going of Mrs. Yvonne Comrie from Happy Grove, New Market, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies

It is indeed with much sad regret that Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) announces the home going of Mrs. Yvonne Comrie in the USA in December 2022 where she has been receiving medical attention during her prolonged illness.

Mrs. Comrie, employee of Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN), will long be remembered as Chairperson Extraordinaire at Concerts, Rallys, School Graduation Commencement Exercises, and other Civic Functions that have been held at various venues in Happy Grove, New Market, Giddy Hall and other adjoining communities over the years.

Mrs. Comrie, Orator and Elocutionist “MissLouise Bennett”, participated in Jamaica Festival of Arts renamed Jamaica Cultural Development Commission for many years.

Mrs. Comrie, Comedian, a loyal and devoted member of Happy Grove United Church of Jamaica and Cayman, is sadly missed by everyone in all communities including Happy Grove which falls under the umbrella of New Market Community Development Committee.

Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) wish to convey sincere condolence on behalf of all Alumni of Beersheba Elementary/Primary School, Friends and Well-wishers in Jamaica and the Diaspora to husband and four children, other biological family members and church family of the deceased.

Thanksgiving Service for life of Mrs. Yvonne Comrie, a true Jamaican Icon, will be held at Happy Grove United Church of Jamaica and Cayman on Saturday, February 4, 2023 commencing at 11:00 AM. Mrs. Comrie will be laid to rest in the family plot at Happy Grove at the end of the Thanksgiving Service.
