BOSA Announces The Home Going Of Ruth Paynter (Aunt Ruth) Proprietress Clearview Suites And Villas – Vincent Samuels

News has been received from Mr. Edward “Eddie” Richardson, Conference Speaker, Bible Teacher and one of the elders at Paget Gospel Chapel, (Christian Brethren Assembly) Bermuda, that Mrs. Ruth Paynter (Aunt Ruth), age 94 years, Proprietress of the famous Clearview Suites & Villas, Sandy Lane, Hamilton Parish, Bermuda, went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2018.

Mrs. Paynter, the oldest of six children, performed the function as mother and caregiver for her young siblings when her mother died. Mrs. Paynter’s husband predeceased her many years ago.

Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) in expressing condolence to members of the immediate family of the deceased – including her sister Dr. Eva Hodgson, Historian and social activist – her other relatives, friends, well-wishers and her church family at Crawle Gospel Hall, (Christian Brethren Assembly), Hamilton Parish, Bermuda, wishes to place on record its appreciation for the benevolence and kind hospitality that Mrs. Paynter showed to its Secretary/Treasurer on occasions that she accommodated him at Clearview Suites & Villas and fed him at her renowned Landfall Restaurant during the time that he spent in Bermuda doing primary and secondary research on the life of James “Dick” Richards (1872-1965), Beersheba Elementary School Alumnus, Soldier, Self-made Businessman, Philanthropist and Icon so as to enable him to write and publish his book: FROM BEERSHEBA TO BERMUDA (2014), ISBN 978-976-95554-2-6, Mandeville Publishers Limited, Jamaica West Indies.

Mrs. Paynter, Business Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, has left a vacuum that will be difficult to fill as an astute entrepreneur and a faithful steward in God’s service to humanity.
