BOSA Announces Home Going of Hilda May Pryce “Miss May” – By Vincent Samuels

It is again with much sad regret that Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) announces the home going of Hilda May Pryce “Miss May”, 9o year old Housewife/Vendor and Beersheba Primary School Alumna of Carr District, New Market, Saint Elizabeth on March 25, 2015.

“Miss May” whose husband Edwin “Pun” Pryce predeceased her late last year, passed away peacefully at her home in the arms of her grand-daughter and Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) representative on the Managing Committee for James Richards Educational Trust Fund Carmen “Misty” Jones-Robinson who has always been one of her loyal care-giver. “Miss May” leaves behind children Lucille, Cherry, Blossom, Granville, (Sonseta), Jueny, Claire, Victor, Jenny, Barrington, step-daughter Cindy, thirty-three (33) grandchildren, thirty-seven (37) great- grandchildren and five (5) great-great-grandchildren to mourn and grieve her loss.

“Miss May” who attended and served for many years as a soldier and member in The Salvation Army Carr Corp that has its genesis in James “Dick” Richards, “Bermuda King”, Soldier, Self-made Businessman, Philanthropist and Icon who purchased the land and donated money to build the wooden building that was the sole church meeting place in Carr and adjoining Districts for many years, will be sadly missed by her church family and everyone in Carr Community, birthplace of James “Dick” Richards.

Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) on behalf of all Beersheba Primary School Alumni in Jamaica and the Diaspora, wishes to convey sincere condolence to all family members, relatives, friends and her closely knit church family as they mourn the loss of their love one.

Thanksgiving Service for the life of Hilda May Pryce “Miss May”, will be held at the Salvation Army Carr Corp., Carr District, New Market, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica,  Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.  Internment in the Family plot at Carr District.
