Against the backdrop of the old wooden platform that six Form 3 male students – including the writer of this news article – transported on our shoulders from the old rickety dilapidated wooden building that housed Beersheba Elementary Moravian Church School  James “Dick” Richards (1872-1965) alma mater, a platform on which Harry B. Crawford (deceased), Clifford I. Chang (deceased), former Principals, and Louise E. Meyler (the only Retired Principal that is still alive), Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) members gathered in a semi-circle around a table that was covered with a lily white table cloth.

On top of the table covered with the lily white tablecloth was a Dell Lap Tap Computer and the Canon PIXMA iP2702 Inkjet Printer donated by Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) to Nickayla Stephens grade 9 student at Saint Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) in recognition for maintaining an excellent academic performance in her class of 44 students in which she came second for 2012/2013 School Year.

In handing over the Lap Tap computer and printer to Nickayla, BOSA Secretary/Treasurer commended her for her excellent academic performance and term average and assured her that Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) will always be there as a safety net for her.

In the pursuance of motivating and urging students to strive for and maintain excellent academic performance rather than mediocrity for which Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) has zero tolerance and does not endorse in any form, the Association will continue to reward students who maintain good academic averages and resolve to be an Achiever and Trailblazer.

Refreshments and a twelve inch diameter potato pudding that was made and donated by Gwendolyn Comrie-Smith, Vinnette Cain, and Carmen Jones, all Beersheba Primary School (Government Leased) Alumni was lavishly served, consumed, and enjoyed by everyone who attended the BOSA bi-monthly general meeting that was held in the main auditorium at Beersheba primary School (Government Leased) on August 14, 2013. Although “Mass Ran” – Nickayla’s grandfather who nurtured her was unable to attend the meeting, Nickayla made sure that she secured a good slice of the delicious potato pudding and put it away to take home with her to give to grandfather “Mass Ran”.
