BOSA Announces Homegoing of Ira McNab “Miss Ira” – Vincent Samuels

It is with profound sadness of heart and with much regret that Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) announces the home going of 94 year old Ira McNab “Miss Ira” of “Holness Corner” Happy Hall, New Market, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies.

Ira McNab, “Miss Ira”, Beersheba Elementary School Alumna, was admitted to Black River Public General Hospital on July 8, 2014 after her medical condition deteriorated from a stroke that she earlier received at home.

“Miss Ira” the industrious housewife and mother who despite her husband “Mackie” predeceased her many years ago, worked assiduously and provided for her children as Fish Vendor who bought fish at White House, Westmoreland and sold them from the wide rim aluminum pudding pan that she carried on her head.

Her proud successful children who are all beneficiaries of her Fish Vending Occupation, are left to mourn her loss after she passed away in Black River Public General Hospital on July 14, 2014.  They are: Olive (Rosie), Delceta (Cherry), Herma, Peggy, Jean, Eda, Kitty (Nola), Shelly, Paulette and Ashly. Several other family members, relatives and friends and her church family at Beersheba Moravian Church are also left to mourn the loss of of “Miss Ira.”

Thanksgiving Service for the life of Ira McNab “Miss Ira” will be held at Beersheba Moravian Church on Monday, August 4, 2014 commencing at 1:00 p.m.

Beersheba Primary School Alumni in Jamaica and the Diaspora wish to convey sincere condolence to to all immediate family members, other relatives, friends, and Beersheba Moravian Church family as they grieve and mourn the loss of their love one.
