In honouring his contribution to Beersheba and its environs. May I offer my best wishes to you and your Association as you take steps to appropriately honour Mr. Richards and to thank you for undertaking this initiative for which I am sure his family will be immensely proud.” (Patricia J. Please keep me informed as you pursue to develop the commemorative for placement at the new James Richards Primary School.” (Linda Gayle-Garrett, Wesley Gayle’s daughter and great-grand-daughter of James “Dick” Richards)

Editor’s Note: Wesley Gayle, nephew of James “Dick” Richards, was born at “Del Cottage”, Carr District, New Market, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies to his parents “Doxie” Gayle, Mr. Richards’ brother and his wife “Sister Gally” a native of Long Ground, New Market, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies. After he migrated to Bermuda – perhaps with assistance from his uncle James “Dick” Richards, Wesley Gayle followed in the steps of his uncle by owning a hardware and a clothing store on Reid Street, Hamilton, Bermuda as well as Sunset Lodge Guest House, Pembroke West, Bermuda which provided accommodation to black people during the segregation era in Bermuda.  Like his uncle James “Dick” Richards, Wesley Gayle (deceased) also became a very wealthy entrepreneur in Bermuda.
