It is indeed with much sad regret that Beersheba Old Students Association (BOSA) announces The passing of Mr. A. L. Reynolds, who had a very good relationship with Mrs. Louise E. Tomlinson-Meyler (Miss Lou), Retired Principal Beersheba Primary School during the era of the 1960’s. Mr. Reynolds who is fondly remembered as “Man Teacher” by myriad students whom he taught over the many years that he was Principal at Black River Primary School before he was appointed Education Officer by the Ministry of Education, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home at Spring Park, Black River, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies on the morning of May 30, 2016. The deceased passed away at age 90 years short of his 91st birthday. Mr. Reynolds who attended Mico College – now know as The Mico – from which he graduated as a Trained Teacher, wore many hats during his illustrious productive career. In addition to being Educator Extraordinaire who was revered and well respected by his students, his peers and everyone with whom he interacted in Black River Community, Mr. Reynolds, Philanthropist and Icon, served as Treasurer for Saint John’s Parish Church, Chairman Saint Elizabeth Parish Library, Returning Officer for South West Saint Elizabeth, member Jamaica Agricultural Society, 4-H Club and several other communal activities in which he distinguished himself academically and professionally. Mr. Reynolds leaves behind Mrs. Carmen Reynolds, his wife for 65 years, Retired Principal Black River Primary School, children Faye, Errol, Althea, Lloyd and Keith, several other family members and relatives. Thanksgiving Service for the life of Mr. A. L. Reynolds will be held at Pedro Plains Anglican Church, Pedro Plains, Saint Elizabeth on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Interment will be done in the Church Cemetery where it is understood that he purchased a burial plot years ago in preparation to make his peaceful transition.
